Entire WP interface broken

    I have a very strange case. I'm using W3TC 2.1.2 on all my sites, but suddenly, on one of my websites the entire WP interface is broken. So I tried to figure out what it could be, and it breaks as soon as I activate the W3TC plugin.

I tried an older W3TC version and it does not solve the problem. I also uninstalled and reinstalled the W3TC plugin. No change. So I deactivated all plugins and used the Twenty Twenty-One Theme on my staging environment. No chance, Still a broken WP interface with no options to add posts etc. I'm using PHP 7.4.14.

What's curious about this is that that site was running just fine yesterday. I have no idea what happened, but with no plugins installed and the standard theme, as soon as I activate W3TC the WP interface gets all funny again and is broken. 

Is there a way to remove all W3TC files on the server to really give it a reset?

    I am sorry about the issue you are experiencing and I am happy to assist you with this.
    This is a very strange and very specific issues so please do share the screenshot of the issue.
    To fix this, first make sure that if the Minify is enabled in Performance>General settings, go to Perfomrance>Minify, enable the option Disable minify for logged in users in General sub-box, save all settings, purge the cache and see if the issue persists.
    If he issue still persists please follow the instructions below:
    1. Purge Cache
    2. Deactivate and Delete Plugin
    3. Check .htaccess File (make a backup)
    W3TC will create many directives in the .htaccess file to control the caching behavior. Each section will start and end with comments like “#BEGIN W3TC Page Cache core” and “#END W3TC Page Cache core”.
    Ensure that no residual entries are leftover in your .htaccess file after deleting the plugin.
    4. Delete wp-content files and folders
    – cache folder
    – w3tc-config folder
    – object-cache.php (if exists)
    – advanced-cache.php (if exists)
    – dbcache.php (if exists)
    – upgrade folder
    – delete w3-total-cache folder in wp-content/plugins/ (if exists)
    5. Delete Cached Files from CDN (if using CDN)
    Besides deleting all the relevant files, if you use CDN then ensure to purge the cached content from your CDN. This is necessary when you enabled minify option in W3TC settings. You should delete the minified and combined scripts and CSS files from your CDN server to avoid the site breaking on the browser.
    6. Go to your wp dashboard and re-install W3 Total Cache

    Thanks a lot for your fast reply.

    Step 4 after deinstalling the plugin did the job. Skipped 5 as I have no CDN.

    Here two screenshots on how it was. Even colors in user profiles where gone:

    I’m now back with all my plugins and my theme activated and everything is working 100% again.
