Entry type
-
I have been searching for the past 3 weeks for a way to sort entries by type.
For instance I have 3 categories: photography, web, site updates
I need three types: portfolio, blog, referenceThe 3 types are the main navigation of the site, and i was hoping there was a way to set types without using categories or that meta_data field. I’m looking for an additional field for each entry, is really what it comes down to, similar to the way that TextPattern handles entry types vs. categories.
If you haven’t heard of anything of this sort or if you think the meta_data is the way to go then please direct me to a GOOD explanation of how to use the meta_data because the reference I found in Codex.ww.wp.xz.cn seemed to lack substance as far as detailed explanations go.
Heck I may eve settle for a primary category plug in at this point, which I have yet to find 🙁
Thanks!

I’m curious why you’re so opposed to using categories? If you’d use ’em, you’d be done.
@handysolo
My opposition to using categories has more to do with the fact that I am looking for the “types” to be weighted more than categories in terms of using that “type” to dictate certain things in the design/template/content of a page.Maybe I’m just over thinking it and making it more complicated for myself than necessary, so I’ll be giving it a shot using just categories, but I am still curious if anyone has a solution besides just using categories.
