    I’ve been tring to update my plugins, but my hosting company is not very good as a free provider, i am also looking to upgrade that.

    I tried updating the plugin crayon syntax highlighter, but I get these errors:

    Warning: require_once(global.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/u609994272/public_html/wp-content/plugins/crayon-syntax-highlighter/crayon_wp.class.php on line 26

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘global.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/php-5.3/pear’) in /home/u609994272/public_html/wp-content/plugins/crayon-syntax-highlighter/crayon_wp.class.php on line 26

    This has been a hard task on muy website as it is hosted for free and when i try to update anything I get a 500 internal Error due to my hosting provider.

    Please help me out, lot’s of people are trying to get on to my site and my emails are full with people telling mee, please this is urgent.

  • You need to use FTP or CPanel to deactivate that plugin – rename or delete it from your plugins folder on the server.

    ~OMG – Thanks so much for the help I’ve been without a website for a while, do you know if it’s a good idea to re-download the plugin or use another syntax highlighter?

    You’re welcome – that’s a pretty standard fix for future reference :)!

    Hard to know if it will cause that error again – sometimes they do and other times not. But if it doesn’t work again, you know how to fix it this time!

    BTW, you really should get better hosting – free hosting is often problematic – so do look into that as soon as you can.

    Thanks for everything, nd btw I made the site to earn from it, I am waiting for better hosting from the same company for free due to all of my referrals. but they are a pain in the @$& sometimes, also do you know of any good syntax highlighters?

    I’ve not used any, but you can search the plugins and find quite a few of them – look at reviews, support, number of downloads, etc. – see which one will work for you.
