Can you provide MORE (as in: a whole lot more) information about your blog, your hosting, and if you’re behind a secure SSL connexion please ?
As things are, we’re not magicians (or our Hogwarts owl gave up on finding us), we can’t help without enough information.
blog: azuredesigns.co.uk
our host is a very niche company called: Help Internet
It’s not saying the error at the moment but will soon when I change an image
It’s possible your web hosts has poorly configured site variables, and locks you when you try to do the most basic stuff.
Can you make another test, and this time choose to upload a MINUSCULE image ?
Such as (google image search results):
http://groupemcc.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/11/fleche-extrusion-side.png
https://cdn1.iconfinder.com/data/icons/famfamfam_mini_icons/icon_accept.gif
https://doc.nuxeo.com/download/attachments/13664723/drive-settings-icon.pngI’ve uploaded that image and tried adding that onto the site logo and it’s locked me out again of wordpress and the FTP site
Wow. Sorry you had to be locked out to test it.
There were google results showing this might be a configuration issue on the server and images too large wouldn’t cut it.At this point, unless someone knows better than me (it wouldn’t be hard at all), I would recommend to either
– turn to your web host, and ask him to check the website’s error logs, and also to check for silly bottlenecks the php variables (such as upload_max_filesize, max_input_time, post_max_size and memory_limit php), the mysql and apache config files.
– turn against your web host, and try with another web host who might do a more professional jobok thanks for trying.
I’ll be charged for help from them so I tended to ask them as a last resort.
I didn’t have this image upload problem previously until I asked them to reset WordPress due to another different error problemcharged for help from them
Wait, we’re in 2016, right ?
They don’t deserve your money if they ask you money to take a look at a website’s error log.
Especially since your website doesn’t even exist yet (a placeholder image isn’t a production website), you might want to use this chance to move the hell out while you can still do it without damage to your future business.
My boss doesn’t want to change the host because ‘Help Internet’ supplies our phone lines and emails as well.
Ah, it sucks, then your company is already an hostage. Well, that’s business after all, your fixed costs have to grow bigger here and there I guess, there’s no real escaping that kind predicament eventually.
Still… a ten bucks hosting elsewhere in which you export the files and database, another ten bucks to give it non-public domain name just for testing, five minutes to replace the blogurl in wp_options before re-importing, and then you can test if it works elsewhere… that might be a worthy expense, just to test at least if it’s blog-related (and then YOU have to fix it) or hosting related (and then YOUR HOST has to do their job at last.)
I’ve just done a little test on my phone using my data and it turns out I can in fact log on to WordPress there but unable using WIFI
