Error 195 – Is there a limit to search_term?

    Hi EjiOsigwe!

    I just had a few quick questions for you:

    1. Is there a limit to how many terms I can include in the “search_term” variable. I think I may have hit a limit, as I seem to exceed a certain number of characters now, and I receive an ‘error 195’ from Twitter on my webpage. Wondering if there is anyway around that, or if that’s simply the way it is.

    2. Is there anyway to include HTML character entities within the “search_term” variable? Not super important, just a bit of a curiosity.

    3. Is there anyway to include a “load-more” button? Not sure if this is likely, just wanted to ask.

    Hello –
    Were you able to figure any of this out? I’d like to know myself. I’m trying to use the shortcode, and would like to configure the search_term to include a hashtag, plus be able to exclude certain keywords. The problem I’m running into is trying to exclude a user. I tried:

    #searchTerm -@UserName

    But that didn’t work.

    I used it for a bit. Would need to look up how I accomplished it. In the end, I reached a limit of how many users I could exclude from the feed. Probably somewhere around 20-30. I just ended up creating a new Twitter account and blocking any users I didn’t want to show up in the feed, then used that account with this plugin. It seemed to work okay.

    My search_term field looked something like this, but more expansive”:

    “#hashtag -RT -#hashtag -@userName -userName”…etc…

    Thanks @tempest20, I really appreciate the info. Do you know if this plugin is still in development? I noticed many of the support questions have never been addressed.

    Hasn’t seen an update since the last time I was working with it… Likely it’s not in development anymore would be my guess.

    I must apologise guys.

    I do occasionally look through the support tickets but I rarely have time to look into things.

    The plugin is still in development, though, and I’ve got it booked in to release another update around March, taking into account the various issues that have been brought up in support as well as getting one or two shiny new features in.

    Again, apologies for the lack of support and, also, thanks for using the plugin.
