Error 500 for login slug

Hi,

I’m getting an internal server error 500 when trying to log into my dashboard using my new slug. It was working fine before, and this problem only seems to have started when I updated to a version of iThemes Security from a few days ago. I tried using wp-admin, but it also goes 404 (which makes sense since the slug is different).

Occasionally, when I use the new slug, it also spews out gibberish text on a plain white screen.

Let me try to clarify that. Whenever I enter my new slug, it takes me to an internal server error page. I don’t get a login page at all.

When I try to use the slug again, it gives me this gibberish.

I guess it makes sense, as that is what it is supposed to do. But before this incident, what would happen is that I’d get redirected to wp-admin after typing in my new slug. And wp-admin would be fine as my dashboard.
It’s been a little over a week since I lost access. I don’t know what’s going on. Please help. What should I do?

The Internal Server Error 500 points you in the right direction:
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Also there might be an issue with something in the .htaccess file.
Post the content of the .htaccess file and I’ll have a look at it.

Hi @pronl
I got in touch with my host. Their customer service guy just boosted my php memory cap from 64mb to 256 mb. That apparently did the trick, and it seems to be running fine.
He also gave me the link to my cgi error logs, but the last error log was from an old site my brother used to run on my account.
But since I’m kind of paranoid, I’ll post my htaccess file anyway. I was just following the settings suggested by my internet marketing coach. Though her tips were from about a year ago, so they might be outdated, I dunno.
