When activating the firewall I get “Error 500 – Internal Server Error”. I followed along with this post. My server API says “Apache 2.0 Handler” not sure if this is the same as Apache + mod_php recommended on the Application Firewall UI

  • Hi @phaseform,

Indeed the Server API “Apache 2.0 Handler” corresponds to “Apache + mod_php” option in the firewall optimization procedure.

Can you see the Wordfence code inserted in the .htaccess file? (between the “# BEGIN Wordfence” and “# END Wordfence” lines)

If you’re not already using one, could you try and temporarily switch to a default theme before carrying out the procedure again?

Also can you please confirm the PHP version you’re running.
