Error 500 on activation

    Hi Team, Some advice would help as we continue to get Error 500 upon activation of the Seriously Simple Podcasting Plugin Version 1.15.1

    PHP Fatal error: Call to a member function has_cap() on a non-object in /home/public_html/mywebsite.com/wp-content/plugins/seriously-simple-podcasting/includes/class-ssp-settings.php on line 108

    This is with all other plugins disabled, wordpress 4.7.2, with standard TwentyFifteen theme and with .htaccess renamed. Of course it does the same with plugins enabled, with my modified Dazzline-Child theme and with .htaccess back in place too.

    Any suggestions?
