    I newly installed WP only this week, Just got on with the design then..database error.

    Something changed my config file..what? I am waiting to dl afresh as I had to uninstall as I know nothing about this file and how to edit.

    What should I do if this occurs with any new future installs please?

    I don’t think anything has been changed in the wp-config file, if you didn’t touch it. More likely it’s a mysql server problem.

    What exactly did you have to uninstall and download? Not clear…

    Hya Moshu,

    I uninstalled the WP due to the error. Sometime this week i’ll think about installing again a new WP. I wondered what steps to take should I get the same error again.

    If you get the cannot connect to the database… error, the cause might be:
    1. your put the wrong data in the wp-config file
    2. your host is bad

    If it worked once and AFTER that starts to disconnect from the database – find a decent host.
    If never worked – check your config file.

    EDIT. No need for re-install in either cases.
