I have installed the plugin but every time I try to “Activate” the plugin I get redirected to another screen that says,
“Sorry, you are not allowed to access this page.”

After this happens, my PHP version is reset to 5.2 and my .htAccess file is fully cleared out, preventing any pages on my website to properly work aside from my homepage. I then have to adjust my .htAccess page and re-update my PHP version. If I don’t re-update my PHP version and click “activate” on the plugin I then get the error,

“Simple Calendar could not be activated.
Required PHP version: 5.3.3 – Version found: 5.2.17
Please update to meet Simple Calendar requirements.”

I have deleted the plugin and re-installed several times to try and see if this would help with anything. Still no answers. Please help me resolve this issue so I can use this plugin.

    My Current System Specs:
    Wordpress Version: 4.6.1
    PHP Version: 5.6.27
    MySQL version: 5.6.32

    Extensions installed:
    curl
    iconv
    json
    mbstring

How are you updating your PHP version, is your host doing it for you?
