I had a student try and update/change their password, but they received an error instead.

My students have been retrieving and/or creating new passwords dozens of times over the past two weeks, but this error occurred right after your recent update. I did also update php from 8.1 to 8.2.

“CAPTCHA” is also misspelled in your error report.

I have the plugin deactivated for now. No worries as I don’t use forms. It’s an LMS website so I run the plugin in the background for added measure of safety as “guests” can register too.

    Hi,

First of all, sorry about the typo 🙁 We will get that updated in the next update.

As for the error itself, that can be a bit tricky to debug especially since the plugin is no longer active.

In the screenshot I see a custom password reset form though so most likely the problem is that our plugin doesn’t know about it and doesn’t add the captcha field/token, but when the form is submitted to wp-login.php that expects the captcha token to be there 🙁

Can you let me know what Captcha version you were using? v2/v3 and what plugin generates that password reset form?

    Hi,

    I am using v3.

I’m using the LearnPress LMS plugin and WooCommerce plugin, so it could have been a glitch. Off hand, I’m not certain which plugin generated the error.

I’ve used your plugin for years, and still use it in other websites that uses forms. But since I don’t use forms on this particular website, I just decided to delete the CAPTCHA plugin. I also use a paid version of Wordfence to combat bots and such.

Anyway, all good though and I appreciate your reply.

    Frank
