    Hi,
I recently installed the Simple Calendar plugin, but I’m having troubles to make it work.
I double-checked the documentation and I’m pretty sure Google Calendar and the API key are correctly configured.
    Still, I’m getting this error:

While trying to retrieve events, Google returned an error:

All cacheable requests must have creation dates.

Please ensure that both your Google Calendar ID and API Key are valid and that the Google Calendar you want to display is public.

Only you can see this notice.

    This is the System Report:

Hi sorry you are having an issue. Please try going through this first so that we can rule out any possible conflicts before further troubleshooting:

    Hi Nick,
    thanks for the reply.

I tested my site following the troubleshooting guide you linked, but I still have the same problem.
The error occurs even with the “Twenty Fifteen” theme, with all plugins and widgets disabled (exept Simple Calendar), after clearing the cache.
I tried with a different browser (Mozilla Firefox), too.

    Any other suggestion?

    Thanks.

Same troubles here, and I also use altervista…

Maybe try running through this again and just make sure you have setup the API Key exactly as the steps outline: http://docs.simplecalendar.io/google-api-key/

    Hi Nick,
    thanks for the reply.

I’ve already done it twice, from scratch.
I also tested the request putting the generated URL in a browser and I got a valid JSON response.
Here is the URL I used, taken directly from the plugin:
    https://www.googleapis.com/calendar/v3/calendars/0s65ugvpvuo837am7g0goh155o%40group.calendar.google.com/events?singleEvents=true&maxResults=100&timeMin=2016-02-12T20%3A34%3A40%2B00%3A00&timeMax=2016-04-10T23%3A59%3A59%2B00%3A00&key=AIzaSyCAECS5r8ejOQdRBgETkvMiUsuHu1zT96I

I noticed that the same error message (“All cacheable requests must have creation dates.”) is displayed in the calendar settings page, under the “Google Calendar” tab, following the “Calendar ID” textbox.

    Any other suggestion?

    Thanks.

Does your host have caching enabled?
