    Hello Again,

So this morning client notified me that the Facebook feed stopped working again.

Error: An unknown error has occurred.
    Type: OAuthException
    Code: 1

So I asked Exactly what she did in the past 24 hours and one of the things she did was Pin a post. I went in an Unpinned the post and the feed started working again. Went back and re pinned the post and got the error above Eureka!

Since Pinned Posts can only be seen by group members I believe the plugin somehow thinks or acts as if it is a closed group.

Is there a way we can have the feed Ignore pinned posts or have something that handles a pinned post errors ?

Let me know as soon as you can. I am just glad i could reproduce it.

    This client pins posts often.

    Thanks.

I sent a bunch of e-mails to Facebook as well as posted on the developer forums about it.

I am assuming you did too .. Client is Happy with your Product.

    Great support as usual TY.

Very good to hear, and you’re welcome! Seems like a lot of people hit them up about it. I noticed the other day that facebook groups were offline for about 15 minutes or so. Something tells me around that time is when the fix went into effect.

My Client reported it working despite pin posts on and off the past couple of weeks. It has only been the past 3 days solid w/o the feed dropping so I noticed them working on it.

What would be Amazing is if Pinned posts would show up on the feed but knowing Facebook’s Policy’s I don’t see that happening soon… Some day maybe 🙂

I agree, they need to add a field to the array that says that post is pinned or something. Then we could do whatever we want with it. Push Facebook for that and we’ll be good, I don’t see any policy corruption in a pinned post 🙂

Pinned posts are only View-able by group members. The add on can only view public parts of the group. This is not the fault of the add on but that of Facebook. If there was a way to get the feed as a member then it might work. or Am I Wrong ?

There is no way in groups to allow pinned posts to be public that’s part of there privacy policy but makes 0 sense because once its unpinned it is public .. so i dunno what there thinking.

Edited .. went to make sure my facts where straight.

    Plugin Author slickremix

    (@slickremix)

A pinned post can only be created by an admin of facebook so as long as the group or page is public then that post will show in the feed to everyone, just not where we want it using our plugin yet sadly. I made a comment here(very last one) too asking about it…. Long shot but you never know. https://developers.facebook.com/bugs/1677365995852310/

I follow you now.. You are displaying the post that is pinned but you have no way to Id that it is a pinned post … I got you.

I Apologizes I was going off bad information from a Facebook Customer service rep.

    Understood.

    TY again.

Yep you got it, just no way to id it to do anything with it. Have a great weekend!
