Error Checking Out with Square Payments

Hello,

Users are having an issue checking out with square payments. When they complete their billing details, users can opt to have the same shipping address as their billing details.

However, if they proceed with having the same shipping and billing details, the box to add their credit card details is greyed out and cannot be filled. Therefore, they are required to check the box “Ship to a different address?” in order to complete their payment.

In debug mode, I am only seeing that there is a “critical error on this website.”

To get a better idea of your site setup, can you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.

Then please add the report to your response.

Hello,

I think this is the behavior you are describing:

In this case, you can perform a conflict test:

Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce and Square
Go to the checkout page and see if the issue is present

Is the issue still present? if not, it means there was a conflict and you can reactivate the theme and plugins one by one and check again after each reactivation until the cause of the problem is found. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

Please consider running the test using a staging environment so that you will not have to affect your production site. You can request your host for staging facilities or you can use a plugin like WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.
