    Hello,

I’m having a strange issue with Google Site Kit. Site Kit has been working fine for months.

Today, I was on my site in Site Kit, logged into a Google account that has no connection to the site itself (without anyone doing anything). I disconnected it, and since then, I haven’t been able to reconnect. It displays “Error connecting Site Kit,” “Unknown error (code: Can’t get the user ID),” and I can’t do anything about it. How can I fix this problem?

Hi there @guillaumeagnc, thanks for reaching out and sorry to hear you’ve recently encountered this issue. I’d be happy to help with this. Please could I ask you to first try performing a Site Kit reset? Once you have reset, you will need to set the plugin back up and sign in with your Google account. After doing this, do you encounter the same issue?

If you continue to face this issue then please can you share your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred. I can review the information to see if anything stands out and suggest some more steps should the reset not resolve the issue.

    Similar error here.

Tried and tried again the reset. even uninstalled the plugin, cleaned up transients etc. but to no avail.

The issue maybe has to do server side with the fact that we deleted an account/property for an old domain of the same site.

Can find out what else can be wrong.

Somehow, even though there is a clean install in the new domain, it says that it recognises us etc. Which obviously is errorneous. It detects “something” from the old account/property that is now on trash, thus preventing creating a new property!

@oxfordmetadata Thanks for adding your comment here. Please could I ask you to open a new support topic where we can assist you with this individually. Please share the same information as here along with your Site Health information. You can use this form to share privately if preferred. Thanks!

I just tried to replicate the issue I noticed that the issue has been fixed.

So I take it was on the server side, possibly due to time constraints
