    Hello,

I am unable to connect my social media accounts for automatic posting on Jetpack. I enabled Jetpack Social and when I try to connect it gives me this error Error connecting account. Something went wrong while connecting account.

I read on another thread that maybe some Jetpack IPs need to be whitelisted but where do I do this? I am using Cloudways and have Cloudflare enterprise via Cloudways (not separately). I also use a security plugin called Shield. Is this the issue or something else?

    Warm regards,

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @hbk747,

Thanks for reaching out and for sharing the details about your setup. I checked your site’s Jetpack connection, and I can confirm that we’re seeing a 520 error, which does come from Cloudflare (as you suspected). This can sometimes happen when Cloudflare is blocking Jetpack’s requests.

To help resolve this, I recommend reviewing our guide here: Configure Jetpack and Cloudflare. That page also includes the list of Jetpack IPs, which you may need to allowlist in Cloudflare or in any security layers you’re using.

Since the error originates with Cloudflare, you may also want to check in with their support team directly. They have a helpful article on troubleshooting 520 errors here: Troubleshooting Cloudflare 520 errors.

Once the Jetpack connection itself is fully restored, you should be able to connect your social accounts. As a quick self-check, you can test your site’s XML-RPC endpoint at:
    https://example.com/xmlrpc.php

If it’s working properly, you’ll see this single line:
XML‑RPC server accepts POST requests only.

Let us know if you have any questions on this!

    Hi @hbk747,

Do you have updates about that, do you still need help? We usually close inactive threads after one week of no movement, but we want to make sure we’re all set before marking it as solved. Thanks!
