Did you do any custom work around for this or are you waiting for the author to post a fix?

Clearly the plugin developer should fix it in their code and make a new release 😉
A workaround would be to change the line (which would be reverted by the next plugin update) or to increase the PHP version (but this could lead to other problems too). WordPress officially supports PHP 5.6+, see https://ww.wp.xz.cn/about/requirements/.
🙂 Yeah I agree and it looks like it has been updated a week ago so I should not have to wait for 2 years for an update 🙂
Hi there,
Thank you for contacting us and point this out!
The workaround is correct, this information has been reviewed by our engineering team and appears to have been corrected in the latest update.
Please let us know if you have any other question,
Best,

I can still see ?? in your latest version in the repo here. There was no update after my post.
Please check this again.
