Error establishing a database connection

    Any suggestions on how to fix are appreciated this is the message showing, Thanks.

    “Error establishing a database connection
    Internal Server Error

    The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request
    Please contact the server administrator, [email protected] and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

    More information about this error may be available in the server error log”

    If this is a pre-existing site, your hosts may be experiencing problems. Have you tried contacting them?

    Thanks for the info I contacted my host and the page works but I have a new problem.
    In trying to solve the first issue on my own I
    I deleted my version and reinstalled the latest version of WP
    then From my backup I dragged wp-content and wp-config.php to the FTP.

    Now the page shows but no graphics, the child theme that I designed also does not show

    When I look at my files I have another folder of wp-content under wp-content should I be deleting that second folder of wp-content?

    Hope this is not too confusing

    What version of WordPress were you using previously?

    I was previously using wp 3.0.4

    Delete everything except your wp-config.php and .htaccess files & your original wp-content folder. Then re-upload all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress 3.0.4.
