Error establishing a database connection

    i want to set new password through cpanel and i fired a sql query UPDATE wp_users SET user_pass = MD5( ‘new_password_here’ ) WHERE wp_users.user_login = “admin_username”; in server database after then i got Error establishing a database connection on my site. I m not programmer so please help me how can i solve this issue.
