‘Error establishing a database connection’

    I have uploaded the wordpress files, and changed the wp-config file to match the name and password of the Database I created.

    In the control panel of my site the database appears to be working. Called my provider and they confirm this.

    However, when I now try to open http://tribeseeker.com/wp-admin/install.php , i get an ‘Error establishing a database connection’

    What could I be doing wrong

    If all the information is ABSOLUTELY correct, then make sure that your DB_USER (database user) has all the privileges to the database.

    Issue resolved.

    Turns out my host, Hostway, needed other info than ‘localhost’ as the DB_Host. Guess I am one of those 1%.

    Maybe they should change it into: ‘75% you don’t need to change this instead of 99%.
