• We are experiencing shutdowns in our website showing: Error establishing a database connection.

Since we built the website over a year ago we have not experienced this situation. We have tried to reboot the VPS and the website comes back up, we check the following day and it is down again.

Could you please tell us what is causing it to happen and how to solve it?

    Thanks

Check the server’s MySQL error logs. If the database is crashing, you’ll likely find the cause there.

Please see below more details about the error:

Warning: mysqli_query(): MySQL server has gone away in /home/admin/public_html?wp-includes?wp-db.php on line 2033

Yes. That says your MySQL server has crashed. The error is in the MySQL server logs. Probably in /var/log/mysql or /var/log/mariadb.
