• Hi

I installed Elementor on my webpage, where i use Newspaper X theme.
When editing a normal page, I get the following error message:

Sorry, the content area was not found in your page.

You must call “the_content” function in the current template, in order for Elementor to work on this page.

Any quick fix in wordpress that would fix this?

    Thanks in advance

Anyone that can assist with this?

    Hi,

I think the theme is not compatible.
Consider using for example GeneratePress theme, which integrates beautifully with Elementor.

Many newspaper and magazine themes provide templates that do not load a page/post’s “own content” in WordPress we call “the_content” but rather a collage of many posts/pages using what is called “the loop”. These themes often provide a loop that aggregate many articles into a grid format showing what the entire site has to offer, like sections of a newspaper. This type of template typically won’t work with page builders like Elementor.

I tried checking the documentation for that theme but it appears it is not available yet. https://colorlib.com/wp/forums/topic/newspaper-x-documentation-link-is-not-working/

What I was trying to find is if that theme provides templates that can be chosen for certain pages that would include “the_content”. I did not download and install the theme but you can check very easily. If you don’t see any page templates to choose from when editing a page, you’ll likely need to change themes or use a plugin that provides a template that includes “the_content” in the loop.

Just search “Elementor” in the add plugin area and you’ll see there is a plugin specifically for theme’s that don’t provide this accommodation.

    Hi guys,
I recently noticed that I can’t modify my wordpress using elementor plugin any longer. The error “the content area is not found in your page” keeps appearing for any page which i had earlier created using elementor.
I updated all my plugins, disabled all plugins except elementor, reverted to a prior php version from the control panel, changed content to draft and tried editing with elemntor, changed my theme and yet it is still not allowing any edits to any page. I have used this site as it is for almost 8 months now. I contacted the theme creator but they do not seem to know what the possible issue is as the theme works perfectly well at their end with elementor.

    Will appreciate a solution.
    Thanks
