Hi! I started scanning the site for malicious code and an error appeared:

    An error

    Internal server error.
    Stage: get_modules_hashes
It is suspected that a virus is embedded in one of the php scripts and it stops the scanner. What should I do?

  • Hello @sorryiamnot,

Please, delete all unused, outdated and abandoned plugins and themes from your website. Doing so will reduce the total amount of files for the scanner to check.

Disable the options “Scan for outbound links”, “Heuristic analysis” and “Fronted Malware scanner”, then launch the Malware Scanner again:
    • WordPress Admin Page → Settings → Security by CleanTalk → General Settings → section “Malware Scanner” → disable the options “Scan for outbound links”, “Heuristic analysis” and “Fronted Malware scanner” → Save Changes.

After the initial scan, please enable the options “Scan for outbound links” and “Heuristic analysis” back. Now future scans will be faster and more stable.

    Did it help?

I have removed plugins, deleted unused themes, disabled 3 parameters that you wrote about, but the situation has not changed. An error appears:

Unexpected response code: 0. Error: error
    Stage: get_modules_hashes

Please, re-activate the CleanTalk Security Plugin in a special way:

    • First, copy your Access Key from the plugin settings: WordPress Admin Page → Settings → Security by CleanTalk → General Settings
    • Then go to WordPress Admin Page → Settings → Security by CleanTalk → General Settings → enable the option “Complete Deactivation” → Save Changes.
    • WordPress Admin Page → Plugins → Installed plugins → Security by CleanTalk → Deactivate and Activate again
    • Paste your Access Key back and save the plugin settings.

Then clear your website cache. It should fix the issue. Did it help you?

    Hello,

Are there any PHP errors in your web server’s PHP logs? You can ask your hosting support about this.
