I’ve discovered a spurious error being generated if I use Zotpress to query for a nonexistent tag.

In previous versions, I just got an empty list of citations — which seems like the right behavior. Now, I’m getting an “Sorry, but Zotpress was unable to contact the Zotero server” error. This also has a side effect of borking my layout — still trying to determine if that’s my fault!

(Why would I ever query for a nonexistent tag? Well, I’m automatically using the WordPress short name or permalink of each entry as that entry’s tag in Zotero, to organize each of my citations according to which article they support. So programmatically querying for matching Zotero tags makes sense…)

Is this possibly due to a change in the Zotero back-end server?

  • I’m in a very similar boat. The “Sorry, but…” error generates invalid HTML that borks the page. This is a huge problem that should be easily fixed. Please fix it!!!

@pleonard Might be because of more stringent parameter checking on my part. I can loosen things up for the tags again, I think.

@jacobdubail I think this was fixed in 4.2.7, but please let me know if that’s not the case.
