error in capabilities.php file when accessing my site

    Hi:
    When I try to access my website, I am getting the following error:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function metadata_exists() in /home/pce/public_html/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 557

    What version of WordPress are you running currently?

    I think it is version 3.3.2

    Try re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.

    Sounds like a lost or damaged core WordPress file. It happens from time to time., If it’s happening frequently, you need start asking your hosts some hard questions like “Why are my site’s files being damaged?”
