If you change /js/modernizr-custom.js to your custom build, it seems to work alright.

It looks related to https://github.com/Modernizr/Modernizr/issues/1538 – maybe the JS in the latest plugin version has this bug?
For example, this site:

Notice how elements such as the hidden search area in the header are now appearing for a brief time before being hidden. this did not happen until after install of latest version of this plugin.
Notice in the f12 dev tools console window that there is now an error showing.
This error has appeared since updating this plugin
