• When viewing the event log, I am met with the message “Your search did not match any history events. Try different search options or clear the search.” I also am told that there was an error loading the events with the following error:

    { "code": null, "statusText": null, "bodyJson": null, "bodyText": "Unknown error" }

    I have reloaded the page many times, loading the page in incognito mode, checked the console and checked the logs for errors and nothing seems amiss. What does this error mean and what can I do in order to get the history back?

    Has the plugin worked before? If so, have you done anything related to the server recently, like moving the server, the website, the database…?

    If you go to “Simple History » Help & Support » Debug” in the WP admin and check if there is any problem reported there.

    Hi Pär. Yes, it has worked previously, but I can’t give a specific date at when I suspect this change happened. I went into the Debug section and no errors are shown to me. I do see that it lists the database tables wp_simple_history_contexts and wp_simple_history each with a number of rows populated.

    I went into the database and see if it’s still logging information and it is. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin but the same error persists.

    What would my next step be resolving this or diagnosing the issue?

    I would check the server logs and see if they contain anything useful. The PHP log and the Apache/Nginx (or similar) log could hopefully contains some clues.
