Error message
-
Hi,
I all of a sudden am getting an error message. I deleted the plugin reinstalled. I created a new form with pretty much nothing on it to start from 0 and work my way back up to the form i first created but nothing is working.
If i publish the page it shows only white but in preview mood i get this error:Catchable fatal error: Object of class WP_Error could not be converted to string in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas08_data03/45/2721945/html/wp-content/themes/adot/inc/templates/heading-top.php on line 158
It has been working until today, when I was going to update the copy for each button.
Help please, Thanks!

That error originates with your theme. Try switching themes to see if the problem goes away. If it does, then you know there’s some troubleshooting to be done with the theme.
A couple other suggestions:
1) Try going to “Settings > Permalinks” and just save them again.
2) Go to “Donations > Settings” and in the “Display Options” tab make sure that “Disable Single Form” is NOT checked.Let me know how it goes.
Hi! Yes it works when i switched the theme. (that is a great problem solving trick by the way, thanks!)
However it worked earlier with this theme and i have not updated the theme nor is there a new update of it…
It was fixed when i switch back and forth between another theme though BUT wonder if you have any tricks up your sleeve if it breaks again as I would really like to use this plugin. Thanks,
Actually it turns white in another theme too…
http://269.3c4.myftpupload.com/donate/Is it a free theme? Do you have a link to the theme I can see?
No it’s a paid theme: http://themeforest.net/item/ecommerce-wordpress-theme-adot/11733602
Thanks π
Just checking in to see if you are able to help me get the plugin working again. Would really love to use it.
thanks,Can you email me at support at givewp.com and reference this ticket? I can help you better there at the moment.
Hi Karin,
Thanks for emailing us. I dug into your site and this is definitely a problem with your theme. A couple very specific problems specifically:
*
- You are using an outdated version of the theme. Your version is 1.1, but their latest according to the product page is 1.4 and was update just in August (http://themeforest.net/item/ecommerce-wordpress-theme-adot/11733602)
- The old version is using deprecated functions that WordPress 4.3 no longer supports. It’s possible they’ve addressed this in their updated version, but their changelog doesn’t spell that out directly so I can’t confirm that.
So, update the theme and hopefully all will be well.
Thanks!
Hi Karin,
I just emailed you an update. The theme still is using old PHP Constructors and will still continue to give you trouble. But I sent you some info which should get you up and running for now.
Thanks!
