• Hi everyone!

I just updated WordPress to version 3.6 and did a backup before, as I always do. Then, when I was going to check my site an error message pops up:

“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /storage/content/78/153078/ansolskydd.se/public_html/wp-content/themes/twentyten/functions.php on line 514”

and now I can’t do anything. I’m using Fetch as my FTP-program but I just can’t fix the problem. Please, help!

But where should I download it? I can’t access my site at the moment. All that shows is the error message.

Using FTP into your site or whatever file management application your host provides.

I deleted the old Twentyten, downloaded a new one and uploaded it to my FTP-server. Nothing has changed. The error is still there.

    Try:
    – switching to the default theme by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    – running the upgrade manually via wp-admin/upgrade.php

I have now downloaded the newest version of WordPress (3.6), deleted my wp-includes and wp-admin folders, took the new folders and replaced them. The last error (…line 514) is now gone but there is something new:

Warning: require(/storage/content/78/153078/ansolskydd.se/public_html/wp-includes/load.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /storage/content/78/153078/ansolskydd.se/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 21

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/storage/content/78/153078/ansolskydd.se/public_html/wp-includes/load.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib64/php’) in /storage/content/78/153078/ansolskydd.se/public_html/wp-settings.php on line 21

What do I do next? What should I do with the wp-content folder?

You also need to delete and upload the root WP core files. But do not delete your wp-config.php and /htaccess files.

    Wich are the core files?
