Error Message – Profile is not valid
-
I am trying to update Yoast settings, but I cannot save anything. Every time I try to save, I am shown this error message:
Oh no! It seems your form contains invalid data. Please review the following fields:- Site representation – Other profile 1: The profile is not valid. Please enter a valid URL.
The link takes me to my Site Representation settings, which are all filled in, no error is apparent there. I have the user profile of the Person who is representing the site updated as well. I can’t find where the invalid URL is, nothing is alerting me to incorrect form data other than original pop message.
Yoast is not working correctly and I can’t troubleshoot, or update any settings to fix it while getting this error message.
Note: I have tried updating/removing the Facebook link – no help. I have also gone through the First-Time Config again – no help.

Hello @careygoodwin,
I’m sorry about your experience. Can you share a full screenshot of what you have under Site Representation?
You can use any image-sharing service like https://pasteboard.co/, https://snag.gy/, https://imgur.com/, https://snipboard.io/, or even upload the screenshot to your own website. Once you upload it to an image-sharing service, please share the link to the image here.
Thanks @maybellyne , I’ve uploaded the screen shot of my Site Representation (not included the option to update the logo/avatar image)
Thanks for the screenshot. I wanted to see the URLs you filled out for the profiles. What if you leave the Facebook and X fields blank? Does that make a difference?
I just removed the Facebook and X urls: https://pasteboard.co/IVDGY16qmLko.png
No luck though. Still getting the same error message.
Thanks for your patience. I’m sorry about the bug preventing you from saving your settings in the plugin. In the meantime, please install the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin; it has a troubleshooting mode which does not affect normal visitors to your site.
Next, turn OFF all plugins except Yoast SEO and switch to a default WordPress theme. Then, perform your previous actions and save changes. Once done, you can disable the troubleshooting mode.
What this basically does is allow you save settings in Yoast SEO without the interference of your theme or other plugins.
