Hi, I’m having an issue with Metaslider for the first time.
I’m getting the following error message when I try to create a new slideshow:

Notice: Undefined variable: sampleId in /home4/lstlight/public_html/sanssouciblogs/wp-content/plugins/ml-slider/ml-slider.php on line 966

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home4/lstlight/public_html/sanssouciblogs/wp-content/plugins/ml-slider/ml-slider.php:966) in /home4/lstlight/public_html/sanssouciblogs/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1427

Warning: Cannot modify header information – headers already sent by (output started at /home4/lstlight/public_html/sanssouciblogs/wp-content/plugins/ml-slider/ml-slider.php:966) in /home4/lstlight/public_html/sanssouciblogs/wp-includes/pluggable.php on line 1430

It seems to resolve when I hit the back arrow and then press “Home” on the left sidebar of the admin panel. It will actually reset itself and create the slideshow where I can resume to use it.

The recent updates I’ve made are WordPress, my theme, and PHP 8.

Is PHP 8 compatible with Metaslider?

    Thank you.

    Hi @lauritasita

Thanks for using MetaSlider. Can you confirm that you’re using version 3.29?

    Hi Steve,

    MetaSlider is a great plugin!

Yes, I can confirm that I’m using version 3.29.1 of MetaSlider on my website.

Hi @lauritasita can you please try installing this version with the fix? Thanks!

    Hey Guys,

I uploaded the beta version with the fix to the two websites where I was encountering the error message. It ran successfully! I need to ask this question: In my WordPress plugin section, I’m getting a message to update to the the last version of MetaSlider 3.29.1 which was the last version which contained the error. Should I now ignore this version update since the beta version you gave me is running ok? Also, the error I was getting was not occurring on every test site installation, but should I still upload the beta version anyway? All my WordPress installations are running on PHP 8 which I just recently updated to. I read PHP 8 is not very backward compatible. This error is the first issue I’ve ever had with your plugin, but it seems ok now.

Thanks so much for all your help!

That’s great to hear. Please update the plugin on the next release (3.30) that will include the fix. If your other sites are not displaying errors, you may choose to wait for the next release instead of the beta we provided.

Do you know when the next release will be out with the fix? Should I keep checking the plugin page? I just want to make sure I don’t update the site with the old version with the error in it.

Hi @lauritasita. Please check version 3.30.0. That is available now with this fix.
