• I get an error message when I click on the widget in the menu. Tried reinstalling the Classic widget but nothing works? Is on several of my sites. Nothing changed. Is it after some update?

What does the error message say?

It’s in Swedish but google translate: “A critical error has occurred on this site. It should have instructions to the administrator’s email address. If the problem persists, try asking in the support forum. Learn more about troubleshooting WordPress.”

EDIT: Tried reinstalling wordpress and then it works. Hmm.. 🙂

This is a server-side error. The reason for the error should be visible in the error log. You can find it in your hosting area. If necessary, the support of your hosting can help you.

Alternatively, you could also enable debugging in WordPress. How to do this is described here: https://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/ – also here the support of your hosting can help you if necessary to edit the file accordingly.

In both cases you should be able to see what the cause is in the logfile.

If this has been solved by reinstalling the WordPress core, I would recommend doing a malware scan. Because this is not normal. As I said, the log file could also reveal something.
