Error message with woocommerce stripe not visible
-
When going through the shopping process, on the woocommerce checkout, choosing stripe.
Entering an invalid card number or any error on the form and trying to submit I get the following problem where error messages don’t display correctly.Using theme Twenty TwentyVersion: 1.7
WP 5.7 (not updated to 5.7.2 yet)
woocommerce 5.4.1
stripe plugin 5.2.3Inspecting the code, it does show the error message:
- Unable to process this payment, please try again or use alternative method.
So confirms it’s the stylesheet that’s corrupted/incorrect to display the message. Any ideas what I should be changing/fixing to solve this please?
Thank you!

Hi @andyb2k9,
Sorry to learn about the problem with the Stripe error message display. Can you send a link to a site we can check closer?
Looking forward to hearing from you 🙂
Yes, sure.
Use my website at https://www.junkendriven.org/shop/Add anything to cart, go to checkout and enter invalid (or stripe testing card) information and submit.
Hi @andyb2k9 –
Thanks for your reply.
I was able to successfully reproduce this issue on a default installation and have reported this to our developers for closer review. You can view the report and follow along here: https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce-gateway-stripe/issues/1612
I tested with Storefront theme instead, and the problem was resolved. So, this does seem to be an issue specific to Stripe and Twenty Twenty-One theme.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention, and please keep an eye out in the report for further updates.
We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread. Please, follow the issue on GitHub for further info on the fix.
