Error messages when logging into wordpress

I recently began having issues logging into WordPress from bluehost. I will sometimes get “error contacting WordPress “ message. Other times it will allow me to login to staging dashboard but will give me a 404 error “url not located on database” when changing to live site admin dashboard. Occasionally I have no issue logging in at all. I tried disabling plugins and also checked permissions but didn’t help. I’ma newbie so I’m scared to start messing with files! My actual site is operating fine. I’m using WordPress version 5.6.1
