An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 32 of the file public_html/wp-content/plugins/eazydocs/includes/functions.php. Error message: syntax error, unexpected ‘|’, expecting variable (T_VARIABLE)

It looks like there’s an issue when updating to version 2.6.2 while running PHP 7.4.33. I’m currently using version 2.5.4 without any problems. The plugin page states that it supports PHP 7.4 or higher, but it seems that version 2.6.2 actually requires PHP 8.0 or later.
