Error on adding Sitemap XML

    Hello,

    I am trying to add a sitemap xml file to Google Webmaster Tools.

    I installed the plugin Google Sitemap XML into wordpress (XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 4.1.0.)

    This is the URL the plugin provided me:
    The URL to your sitemap index file is: http://scouteats.com/sitemap.xml

    When I pasted this url into the sitemap section of google webmaster tools, I received the following message:

    “Error
    Please enter a valid path to a sitemap in your site.”

    Can someone please help me get this fixed?

    I am no expert at all so I’m sorry if this is a stupid suggestion – but have you entered your URL as https, or http? because when I enter your URL in the address bar you appear as https so I think you should enter it as https and see if it works.

    My guess … I hope it helps…but apologies if it’s just a red herring!

    I tried adding https and it didn’t work… I ended up just adding “sitemap.xml” (which I tried before) and it worked! Not sure what changed. Thanks for the reply!
