Error on individual pages

I found an error that seems to pop up whenever I click on a regular individual page. I get to this page by going to these pages (which have not been created with shortcodes): “Surnames” >> “Individual Surname” >> “Individual Person.”

The following error appears over the individual’s facts table:
WordPress database error: [Table 'wordpress.wp_gedshow_photos' doesn't exist] SELECT * FROM wp_gedshow_photos WHERE indref LIKE 'P1'

I also tested to see if the error shows up when I create an individual’s page with a shortcode and it still does. I haven’t made any modifications to the WordPress database. I don’t have a link to share since I’m developing my site locally for now.

I initially installed the plugin with the default settings.

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the plugin with those same default settings, but the error still appears.

I am sorry I don’t understand your problem as you have currently described it. Can you try again please. I suspect that it is something to do with the way you are using the plugin like your last problem. Can you do a screen cast and put it on Youtube or try describing your issue again?

Sorry for not being clearer. Basically, whenever I navigated to an individual’s page, I received the following error:

WordPress database error: [Table 'wordpress.wp_gedshow_photos' doesn't exist] SELECT * FROM wp_gedshow_photos WHERE indref LIKE 'P1'

After reinstalling the plugin and re-uploading the GEDCOM file, these were the settings I used:
Keep existing linked photos Yes
Keep existing linked pages Yes

I took a look at the MySQL database and saw that all of the Gedshow tables had been created with the exception of the wp_gedshow_photos table. I’ve since created the table manually, so now the error doesn’t show up. However, I’m not sure why the table didn’t get created automatically during the plugin install…

Creating the table manually resolved my issue, but I thought I’d make you aware.

Thanks very much, I now understand the issue and will check the code and will issue a new version once I have fixed the bug.

I’ve also got a few ideas regarding the plugin:
- Could you also create shortcodes for specific facts? On individual pages, I may not want a narrative already written for me. Maybe I just want to be able to pull the birth date or the individual’s place of residence and write the narrative myself.
- Could you associate a photo with a particular surname (similar to how you do it for an individual)?
- When you associate a page with an individual, can you show a list of the pages that are associated with all individuals in the database? That way, I’ll know which individuals have already been connected to a page.

Some interesting ideas. I will give it some thought. I have found the bug with the table generation problem that you had. I just need to complete my testing before I put an updated version out.
