WordPress generated an “Your Site is Experiencing a Technical Issue” email on updating the plugin to 10.5.2

There was however no evidence of a problem, i.e. the site didn’t crash and I saw no errors from WooCommerce. So no need for action as far as I can see but thought I should report it as it might be something you want to look at. Details below. If you want any further info, let me know.

  • Hi @zimbo000,

Thanks for taking the time to report this. I can see how receiving a technical issue email during the update could raise concern, especially when everything appears to be working fine on the surface. I appreciate you sharing the detailed error log.

From the error message, it looks like a required file inside the WooCommerce plugin directory could not be loaded. This typically points to an incomplete or corrupted update rather than an active runtime issue, which would explain why the site itself did not visibly crash.

To ensure everything is fully intact, I recommend reinstalling WooCommerce to refresh all plugin files. You can do this by going to Plugins > Installed Plugins, deactivate and delete WooCommerce, then reinstall it from Plugins > Add New. Your data will not be affected, as WooCommerce stores orders and settings in the database.

If you prefer a more detailed guide, you can follow this documentation:
    https://woocommerce.com/document/how-to-update-woocommerce/

After reinstalling, monitor whether the technical issue email appears again on the next update or when accessing the admin. If it does, please share a copy of your full System Status Report from WooCommerce > Status. You can paste it via https://pastebin.com or https://gist.github.com and share the link here.

Let me know how that goes, and we will continue from there if needed.
