• I have a site with a bit over 220k users and when upgrading to 2.8.1 I get a message stating I needed to update the structure of the database. I click run and it does well for around 200k but near the end I get an error message saying: "Something went wrong with AJAX request…
Your upgrade was crashed, please contact with support"

Is there anything I can change for this not to happen? Each try takes around 6 hours to complete. Should I just roll back to 2.6.0?

Here are my server specs on Siteground:

  • @dadmin31 were you able to resolve this somehow? I’m running into the same issue with around the same amount of users

@jasnon I noticed even the slightest variation in wifi signal made the job crash. So I connected my computer via ethernet and hoped for the best. At around 3 more attempts I was able to update successfully. Left it overnight so the server could be less busy too.

@dadmin31 thanks for the advice. I was able to follow this and maintain a connection long enough to finish the job (took around 24 hours). But after the job had finished it simply took me back to the main Ultimate Member dashboard page and I’m still seeing the message to upgrade.

I’m not sure what happened exactly after the job finished as it completed overnight. I think I need to reach out to support on this unfortunately.
