Error: plugin deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.
-
I attempted to update two different plugins (Elementor and WooCommerce) today and both have ended up with an error:
“The plugin (plugin name) has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.
When I went to the deactivated plugins page, neither were even listed there anymore. Other people I have seen with this issue simply reactivated their plugins but this is not an option for me as the plugins are completely gone.Extra Details:
-I attempted to update these individually, not in bulk. A couple of smaller plugins caused no issue.
-When I try to reinstall the plugins I get another error: “Installation failed: Connection lost or the server is busy. Please try again later.”
-Installing other new plugins does not cause any issue.
-When I tried to update WooCommerce, the update locked and my site got stuck in Maintenance mode. I was able to fix this by removing the maintenance file. I don’t know if this is of any importance to the issue. It did not happen when trying to update Elementor.I am very new to WordPress and would very much appreciate the help as this is completely baffling to me.
