Hi there,
I hope you’re doing well. Thank you for using Gutena Forms on your site. I appreciate your effort in troubleshooting the issue.
I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you’ve faced. I attempted to replicate the issue on my end by filling out the form and submitting it, and it was successfully submitted. Here is the screenshot for reference: Screenshot Link.
To better understand and resolve the issue, could you please provide a screenshot of the message configuration and the exact error message displayed? This will help us investigate further and find a solution as soon as possible.
Looking forward to your response.
Best regards,
Dhanush

hi @dhanush22 , here is the config: (wordpress forums won’t let me add an actual image to the post, only a URL that won’t parse the image…): https://ibb.co/yFhrPqCh
Error message presented: https://ibb.co/pBmSPft6
The error only occurs when admin email notifications are turned on, so I’ve turned them on for you to repro
Thank you for your help!
Hi @atxgcm ,
Thank you for your prompt response.
I appreciate you sharing the screenshot and error message, which helped us identify the issue. We were able to replicate the error on our end, and it appears that the server failed to send emails.
Email delivery can sometimes be challenging in WordPress due to server configurations. Please ensure that your email settings are correctly configured and that your hosting provider supports email delivery. As an alternative, you may consider using an SMTP solution to improve email reliability. If needed, you can explore options like the WP Mail SMTP plugin to assist with configuration.
I recommend verifying your server’s email settings or consulting your hosting provider to ensure proper configuration. This should prevent similar errors in the future.
Please let me know if you need any further assistance.
Best regards,
Dhanush

hi @dhanush22 , why would the Gutena error message be impacted and change the error message in the GUI simply because of an SMTP issue?
that does not make sense, as the Gutena error message is not coming from WP Mail SMTP (which is already configured and the test email is sent and received successfully).
the Gutena settings in wordpress block/GUI should be what’s presented on the actual website no matter what. otherwise, what is the point of being able to change the error text message or even using Gutena?
Hello @atxgcm ,
I hope you’re doing well. Thank you for your prompt response.
I understand your concern regarding the error message. The error displayed in your section is related to frontend validation for form input. However, the current error appearing is due to a server email configuration issue that needs to be fixed. Once the server is correctly configured to send emails, this error should no longer occur.
Additionally, please ensure that the admin email is correctly provided in the “Email To” field under the Admin Notification settings.
Here’s a screenshot for reference: Screenshot Link.
Let me know if you’re able to resolve the issue or if you need further assistance.
Thank you for your time and cooperation.

That still doesn’t make sense. Why is Gutena making up an error message?
Either way, it seems like there isn’t a way to fix this, and Gutena will just present whatever error message it wants.
Thanks for your time, but this has not been helpful at all and does not resolve the issue. Gutena needs to present whatever the user enters as text, and not whatever error Gutena wants. If Gutena wants to pick and choose error messages, at least make the error message helpful and say it’s an SMTP issue.
Horrible GUI experience.
Hello @atxgcm ,
I hope you are doing well.
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concerns. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced. We appreciate your valuable feedback.
I’m pleased to inform you that we have resolved the issue with Gutena Forms. We have released the latest version (1.2.7), which includes the following update:
- Improved Admin Email Notification Failure Message – This update ensures that error messages related to email notifications are not caused by Gutena Forms.
If you continue to experience email-related issues, we recommend checking with your hosting provider or using an SMTP plugin for better email delivery.
Please update to the latest version and let us know if you need any further assistance. If you require additional information or clarification, feel free to reach out.
We appreciate your cooperation and time.
Best regards,
Dhanush

hi @dhanush22 , I switched to WP Forms and received the email/submission form successfully, so the issue is indeed with Gutena and NOT SMTP. and yes, I updated the plugin — no luck. SMTP host did not find anything blocking Gutena, so again NOT SMTP.
I will simply just use WP Forms instead of Gutena. y’all lost yet another user.
