When I try to view the website (https://qacdg.org/) or edit any page from the dashboard, I get the following message on white screen: Error thrown Class ‘Astra_WP_Editor_CSS’ not found.

I installed Astra a couple of weeks ago, set up a child theme and made my customizations. I did not change or add any code. The site was fine until today (9/13).

I have no idea what to do to fix it.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • The same happened to me and i realized my malware scanner (imunify360) have a false positive and removed the content of “class-astra-wp-editor-css.php”. You can try to reinstall the theme and add the file to the malware scanner ignore list.

Hi guys, we are sorry for the inconvenience.

Reinstalling the Astra theme should fix this. Further, our dev team already fix this. Please consider reaching out to us through our Support Portal, so we can provide you with the dev version.

    Kind regards,
    Herman 😊

Thank you, Herman. I did a reinstall – everything seems to be working fine now.

So I had exactly the same issue on a couple of my sites this morning. I have confirmed with my hosting provider that they did not make any changes overnight. One theme was on 3.9.1 and another on an older version. Other sites worked (and some continue to work) fine

In the end I was able to quickly confirm an update would fix this and rolled it out. But I would like to understand the root cause. I see a comment about immunify360?

Are there any known causes for this? Is the malware scanner a likely candidate?

EDIT: I’ve checked and can also see immunify360 is the cause – but only on some of my sites.

    Thanks

@cgreen177 you can refer to the comments at the bottom of imunify360 blog page on this false positive incident. https://blog.imunify360.com/false-positive-smw-blkh-46666-auto

They mentioned that the file have been remove from the black list. So, i guess it should be fine now.

Great! My file was slightly different to the ones reported there, so I’ll add details but hopefully fixed (and fingers crossed all looks OK today)

@busy-little-bird how to do a reinstall? And what about the information?
    I am a beginner 🙂 Thanks

    Hi @merypucon,

You can just temporarily change the theme to another. After that, delete the Astra theme then reinstall the Astra theme just like when you install a theme. Once it gets installed, you can then activate back the Astra theme.

I would suggest you create a proper backup before doing this. Just in case.

    I hope it will help.

    Kind regards,
    Herman 😊
