To troubleshoot this issue, check the issue after updating NextGEN Gallery plugin to the latest version available, as well as checking after deactivating it. If the issue persists, reactivate it again and run a theme compatibility test; switch to a WordPress default theme, like Twenty Twenty-Three, and then check the issue is resolved.
The other method is to check your PHP error logs in your hosting panel, or simply ask your hosting support to help you with this.
If none of these work, I recommend asking at NextGEN Gallery support forum, so their developers and support community can help you with this.

Thanks so much for the advice. yeah that’s the problem I think, the NextGen gallery plugin has stopped me from being able to access the wordpress dashboard what so ever. So unfortunately I can’t even get on the dahsboard to alter the plugin update which is super frustrating. Do you happen to know a way around that so I can still access the dashboard via another route? All advice so so welcome and thanks again!

- Reinstall and update the NextGEN Gallery plugin.
- If the issue persists after reactivating the plugin, run a conflict test for your themes and plugins, and follow the steps as I mentioned earlier.
