    Hello,

I have been experiencing a very frustrating issue with WP Extended for several months.

I can still create new snippets without any problem. However, once a snippet has been created, I am unable to:

    • Enable the snippet
    • Update the snippet
    • Delete the snippet

Every time I attempt one of these actions, I receive the following error:

    Unexpected token ‘<‘

What makes this issue particularly strange is that snippet creation works perfectly, but any attempt to modify, enable, or delete an existing snippet consistently fails.

As a workaround, I have to connect via FTP and manually delete the files from the wpextended-snippets directory before recreating the snippets through the interface. As you can imagine, this makes maintenance extremely time-consuming and cumbersome, especially for simple code changes, considering that I currently have around ten active snippets.

I have already performed numerous tests to try to identify the cause of the issue:

    • Checked whether the REST API was being blocked.
    • Completely disabled Wordfence.
    • Disabled all caching on the website.
    • Disabled several other plugins that could potentially cause conflicts.
    • Performed various compatibility and cookie-related troubleshooting tests.

Despite all these efforts, the “Unexpected token ‘<‘” error continues to occur.

I may have overlooked something. Do you have any suggestions regarding the possible cause of this issue, or could you recommend a more advanced troubleshooting procedure?

    If necessary, I can provide:

    • Browser console logs
    • Network tab errors/responses
    • Information about my WordPress environment
    • The current version of WP Extended that I am using

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

This issue affects every single code snippet, regardless of whether it contains JavaScript, CSS, or HTML. All snippets are affected without exception.

Once a snippet has been created, I cannot edit it, enable it, or delete it through the plugin. The only way to remove a snippet is to manually delete its file via FTP.

    Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, for security and compliance reasons, I am not able to provide my WordPress login credentials.

This website is a professional corporate website owned by the company where I am employed, and I am not authorized to share administrator access with third parties. If any issue were to occur following the disclosure of these credentials, I would be held directly accountable.

For this reason, I must decline the request to provide direct access to the website.

I would still be delighted if you could help me investigate this issue, and I will gladly provide any information, logs, screenshots, or diagnostic data you may require to assist with the troubleshooting process, including :

    • Browser console logs
    • Network requests and responses (HAR file if required)
    • WordPress debug logs
    • Server error logs
    • Screenshots or screen recordings
    • Information about my WordPress environment and installed plugins

If there are any specific files, API responses, or diagnostic outputs you would like me to collect, please let me know and I will do my best to provide them.

    Thank you for your understanding.
