Error uploading files

    I am trying to upload .doc,.xls and .pdf files to a post using the option Add Media.But I am getting an error as “file upload failed’.On other installation it is ok .Is that error occurring as it is Multisite installation?

    Does anybody have Idea on uploading files with these extensions?
