• I am trying to reactivate my simply hooks and I keep getting the error: Sorry, you cannot run Simple Hooks without WordPress 3.9.2 and Genesis 2.1.0, or greater. I am running Genesis 2.1.1 and WordPress 4.2.2 and have the Metro Pro Theme installed and activated. It was working fine but I had to deactivate my plugins because of tech issues, and now I can’t get it to reactivate.

Sorry to hear that! Are you running a WordPress multisite install and trying to network-activate the plugin? If so, you’ll need to activate it on the blog itself, rather than at the network level.

Otherwise, feel free to share a link to your site. I’m happy to take a closer look for you.

We have the same issue. On our other websites all works perfectly because we installed Simple Hooks half year ago.

On a new website we are creating today, it gives the same error listed above.

@dfumagalli There are a few things you can check:

    1. Make sure your active theme is a Genesis child theme. (If you try to activate the plugin when a non-Genesis theme is active, you’ll see the error message, even if Genesis is installed in your theme folder.)

    2. If using WordPress multisite, be sure to activate the plugin from the individual site’s admin screen, rather than for the entire network.

    3. Double-check that you’re using WordPress 3.9.2 and Genesis 2.1.0 or greater.

If those tips don’t help, feel free to reply with a link to your site and I’ll take a closer look.

The issue went away installing some additional Genesis plugins and a Genesis child theme. However the issue did show up while using the “Genesis Sample Theme”, which in my opinion is “Genesis enough”.

However I might have had it not enabled indeed, when I tried the plug in.

@dfumagalli Thanks for the update – great that you were able to resolve this.
