Hi there!
I can understand your conecrn, Let me clarify:
- How do I connect the store to WooCommerce or WordPress.com?
You need to connect your store to your WordPress.com account, After connecting, you’ll be redirected back to your site, and you should see a “Setup Complete” banner confirming the connection. For more details you can use this article: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-shipping/#installation
- Which account should have the credit card number?
The credit card information is typically linked to the account that will be billed for label purchases. The credit card details should be added to the WordPress.com account during the setup process.. For more details you can use this article: https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-shipping/#section-23
Let me know if you still face the same issue.
(1) The WooCommerce Shipping plugin was deactivated and deleted.
It was then reinstalled and activated.
On Plugins Page, find “WooCommerce Shipping” and click “Settings” or go to WooCommerce > Settings > Shipping > WooCommerce Shipping
Click “Connect your store”
I got
“Invalid request, please go back and try again.
Error Code: invalid_client
Error Message: Unknown client_id.”
NOTE: We successfully installed and connected this with another store with the exact same plugins and server. There were problems but we finally got it connected after deleting and reinstalling.
Do we need Jetpack – WP Security, Backup, Speed, & Growth (JetPack has several so please note exactly which one)? If so, which one? We had it installed which I thought was free. We got an email that they wanted to charge us to use JetPack for being a business.
(2) Regarding which site, WP or Woo should have the credit card. We do not know which one will be used. Please clarify which one should have the billing information.

There’s no need to have Jetpack or WooCommerce Tax installed on your site — the new experience connects directly through your WordPress.com account for speed and simplicity.

The credit card details need to be added to the WordPress.com account linked to your WooCommerce store. This account is used for billing label purchases. For more details please user article. https://woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-shipping/#section-23
