Error when setting sitemap

    Hi there,

    I am new to WP and, I see this question has been asked before, but I don’t know how to get to the place to solve it.

    I have just set my sitemap in Google Search Console and when I go to see it, it gives me: “error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document”

    But I don’t know where to delete those lines.

    What plugins are you using to generate a sitemap? You have one at example.com/sitemap.xml and one at example.com/sitemap_index.xml

    I am using Yoast and they only offer technical support if you have a premium account (which I don’t have).

    I tried both sitemap extensions and it still says the same:

    “This page contains the following errors:
    error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document
    Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.”
