Error when using free Backup Backup plugin

Hello, I hope you can help resolve issues I ran into when using the free Backup Backup plugin:
1. I used the plugin to do a backup of a WP site on my host server, with all the options left at Default, I did not change any of them. The backup worked fine, and I copied the URL where the backup was stored.
2. I went to a new WP site, which I set in another directory on the same host server. This site is brand new, with just WP set up and the default 2021 Theme, with just a Hello World post, nothing else. I installed Backup Backup plugin on the site, and then proceeded with a Restore using the URL I had for the old site’s backup.
3. The restore seemed to work just fine and completed. I close the complete dialog, was presented with a new wp-admin login dialog. However I notice that this wp-admin login dialog had an URL that seems to redirect me to the old site. I try to type in my username, password, and sure enough, it kicks me back to the old site, with a new wp-admin dialog box. I try my credentials again, but the same thing repeats. I then type in the URL oldsite/wp-admin and I can log in ok. I try using the URL newsite/wp-admin to login and it kicks me back to the oldsite wp-admin, except with the redirect link, and I cannot log into either site using that page.
4. When I just browse to https://newsite.com then I can see it fine, except all the links on the page will take me back to pages on the old site.
Please advise. I’d be happy to entertain purchasing a premium version of the plugin, but would like to see this free version work as advertised first. Maybe I did something wrong or omitted additional necessary steps, please let me know what they are.
