• Hi,

I am trying to deactivate Wordfence Security plugin in order to clean the database (disk consumption is really high). When I try to deactivate, I receive the error “Se ha producido un error inesperado al intentar configurar Wordfence para que borre sus datos cuando se desactive.” (“An unexpected error occurred when trying to configure Wordfence to delete its data when deactivated.”). Could you help me to clean the database or deactivate the plugin?

    Regards,

    Jorge

Hi @yorchalonso, thanks for reaching out.

From the sounds of things, this error is coming before you’re presented with a “Deactivate Wordfence” modal window after hitting “Deactivate” on WordPress > Plugins > All Plugins. The modal would ask whether you wanted to keep or remove Wordfence tables/data.

Considering the nature of your initial problem, tables growing to a large size could be the result of incorrect database permissions or WP Crons failing. I say this because Wordfence should truncate certain tables after a scan, for example.

Do you see any database permissions issues or overdue crons on your Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page?

    Thanks,
    Peter.

    Hi Peter,

As you are saying, I am receiving the error after hitting Deactivate Wordfence in “All plugins”. I am selecting the second option (delete all data but maintain security tables). On Diagnostics page I can see that all MySql the privileges are OK. I am worried about this data tables:

    Name Engine Rows Avg_row_length Data_length Index_length
    wp_wfconfig InnoDB 275 255095066 70151143424 0
    wp_wffilemods InnoDB 42315 533 22593536 0
    wp_wfhits InnoDB 1172 1803 2113536 212992
    wp_wfknownfilelist InnoDB 43437 229 9977856 0
    wp_wflogins InnoDB 746 263 196608 65536
    wp_wfstatus InnoDB 943 1129 1064960 98304

    Thanks,

    Jorge
